Sustainability
At Eminence Organic Skin Care, we treat every day like Earth Day. As we celebrate the greenest month of the year, we’re also celebrating 25 million trees planted so far through our Forests for the Future™ initiative. In addition to planting a tree for every product sold, we seek earth-friendly solutions in every part of our business—from our green office in Vancouver, Canada to sustainable farming practices in Hungary. Being green is at the center of what we do.

If you’ve wondered how we stay environmentally conscious, here’s an overview of what we do to make every day Earth Day.
Eminence Organics Eco-Friendly Initiatives
1. We Plant A Tree For Every Product Sold!
In partnership with Trees For The Future, we plant a tree for every retail skin care product sold to support communities in developing countries. The Forests for the Future™ program trains farmers to build productive, sustainable farms so they can grow food and create steady incomes. This work has led to tree planting in more than 22 countries and support for many communities and families.
One tree can produce about 260 pounds of oxygen a year. Trees help cool the air, fight climate change, prevent soil erosion with their roots, improve soil fertility through nitrogen fixation, and increase water absorption into the ground.
2. The Green Spa Program
“Spa businesses must meet 60% of our green requirements in order to be recognized as an Eminence Organics Green Spa.”
Our Green Spa Program rewards spas and salons that support the green movement and encourages others to do more. To be recognized as an Eminence Organics Green Spa, a business must meet at least 60% of our green requirements. Examples include choosing reusable or biodegradable options, using power strips in treatment rooms and offices and turning them off when not in use, running an in-spa recycling awareness program, and using natural, non-toxic, biodegradable cleaning supplies instead of chemical-based products.
To learn more, read our Green Spa Requirements or find a certified Eminence Green Spa near you with our Spa Locator and filter for Green Spas.
3. Proud To Be A Certified B Corporation®
We were the first Canadian professional skin care company to be certified as a B Corporation®. This means we meet high standards for social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability. Certified B Corporations balance profit and purpose. The B Impact Assessment evaluates how a company’s operations affect its workers, community, environment, and customers.
4. Eco-Friendly Packaging: Retail Boxes
Our retail boxes are printed with eco-friendly inks and made from FSC-certified materials, and most of our marketing materials are recyclable. FSC certification shows products are made from responsibly sourced wood and meet strict environmental and social standards, giving you confidence that what you buy comes from verified, responsible sources.
5. Green Company, Green Building
When we expanded our central office to better serve our Spa Partners, we chose to move into the neighboring building instead of building new, reducing our carbon footprint. Our space maximizes natural light with large windows and skylights for better energy efficiency. We use carpet tiles made from 60% recycled materials, non-toxic low-VOC paint on the walls, energy-efficient appliances, LED lighting on timers and motion sensors, multiple LED TVs, and a sortable waste system that includes composting.
6. Sustainable Shipping Materials & Sugar Sheet Paper
For shipping and office paper, we choose natural plant-based sources first. We use biodegradable packing popcorn and unbleached kraft paper when shipping products. Our packing popcorn is made from biodegradable potato or corn starch that dissolves in water and is non-toxic. In the office, we use sugar sheets in printers—edible sheets made from 100% natural sugarcane fiber residue—which help preserve forests and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
7. Eminence Organics Paper Bag
We’ve redesigned our paper bag with woven paper handles so the whole bag is 100% recyclable and biodegradable. The non-tapered design also makes it easier to carry your products. Many carrier bags use cotton or polyester rope handles, which can contaminate recycling streams and make recycling harder.
We’re inspired every day by the creative ways people take action to make our planet healthier. We’re proud that our business partners, Spa Partners, and fans are doing their part for the green movement.
