Every April, more than a billion people worldwide join Earth Day events to protect our planet. This Earth Month is extra special for Eminence Organics: through our Forests For The Future™ program, we’ve now planted 10 million trees! Thank you for helping us reach this milestone. Here’s how your continued support has helped the environment and communities around the globe.
Forests For The Future™
Each time you buy an Eminence Organics product, we plant a tree in a developing country. As a Certified B Corporation®, we aim to run our business in ways that benefit the planet and create lasting positive change. Through our Forests For The Future™ initiative and our partnership with Trees for the Future, we’ve planted trees across developing regions worldwide.
In 2016, we were honored with the ISPA Innovate Award for Philanthropic Initiatives as the first skin care company to plant five million trees. With your help, we’ve now surpassed 10 million trees, supporting environments and communities in countries like Uganda, Senegal and Tanzania.
Helping The Environment
The impact of a single tree is powerful:
– Produces about 260 pounds of oxygen each year
– Absorbs as much carbon annually as a car driving 26,000 miles
– Helps cool the air and fight climate change
– Stabilizes soil and prevents wind and water erosion
– Improves soil fertility through nitrogen-fixing and better water penetration
Supporting Local Communities
Forests For The Future™, together with Trees for the Future, helps families in Sub-Saharan Africa increase their incomes by up to 400%. Agroforestry programs teach people to create tree nurseries, called Forest Gardens. These Forest Garden Projects help communities grow food, restore land, and build steady sources of income. Beyond meeting basic needs, the projects give people the skills and resources that benefit future generations.
