4 Practical Strategies to Improve Your Health and Well-Being

Lifestyle & Wellness

Every year on June 13th we celebrate Global Wellness Day — a day to ask ourselves: “How can I live a healthier, better life?” Inspired by that question, here are four simple ways to bring more wellness into today and every day:

4 Practical Strategies to Improve Your Health and Well-Being

1. Take Time To Be Grateful
It sounds basic, but practicing gratitude makes you happier and healthier. Research in positive psychology, noted by Harvard Health Publications, shows that gratitude is linked to greater happiness. It helps people feel more positive, enjoy good moments, improve their health, cope with tough times, and build stronger relationships.

Quick Wellness Tip:
Start a gratitude journal to focus on the good in your life. Keep a notebook by your bed and write three things you’re grateful for each day. If you prefer tech, try a gratitude app.

2. Be Mindful of Caring for Your Body & Skin
At Éminence Organic Skin Care, we believe healthy skin reflects what you give your body, inside and out. For food, choose healthy, local, and organic when you can. A UK study found organic crops often have higher antioxidant levels than conventional ones, and choosing organic can reduce your exposure to pesticides and other chemicals. For skincare, pay attention to the ingredients you use — your skin can absorb many substances from your environment, including those in personal care products. We source premium ingredients from organic farms around the world to make our products with organic ingredients. Read about our organic and biodynamic® philosophy.

Quick Wellness Tip:
Whether you’re eating a bowl of organic strawberries or enjoying a massage, stay present. Mindfulness helps you taste more, relax deeper, and fully enjoy the moment.

3. Make Exercise Part of Your Daily Routine
We know fitting exercise into a busy life isn’t always easy, but moving for at least 30 minutes a day can make a big difference in your health and wellbeing. Exercise does more than build muscle and help your heart — it reduces stress, sharpens your mind, boosts confidence, and releases endorphins, your body’s “feel-good” chemicals.

Quick Wellness Tip:
Pick activities you enjoy. If the gym or a 5K isn’t your thing, try yoga, dance, cycling, or any movement that feels fun. You’re more likely to stick with what you like.

4. Get Social With Good Friends
A strong circle of friends gives support and a sense of community. Research from the Centre for Ageing Studies at Flinders University found people with larger networks of friends lived about 22% longer than those with fewer friends. Friends may discourage unhealthy habits, and their companionship can protect against loneliness and depression while boosting self-esteem.

Quick Wellness Tip:
If you’re struggling to meet wellness goals, team up with a friend. Jogging, walking, or working out together is more fun and you can motivate each other to stay on track.
