When clients come to a spa for professional, results-driven facials, they want a lasting glow. That should be your goal too — the better they look and feel, the more likely they are to return. For clients who want brighter, more vibrant skin, the Arctic Berry Peel & Peptide Illuminating System Facial is a dependable option. Below is the full step-by-step protocol and details on the home-care retail kit clients will appreciate.

Client Treatment Protocol: Arctic Berry Peel & Peptide Facial

What Is the Arctic Berry Peel & Peptide Facial?
Gentle, regular exfoliation is key to a radiant complexion. The Arctic Berry Peel & Peptide Facial is designed to refresh and illuminate the skin. Its formulas include arctic plants and berries that help protect the skin from environmental stressors, which can reduce the look of fine lines, dark spots and promote natural radiance. This protocol uses professional-grade products from the Eminence Organics Arctic Berry Peel & Peptide Illuminating System: the Arctic Berry Enzyme Exfoliant, the Arctic Berry Advanced Peel Activator MA20 and the Arctic Berry Peptide Radiance Cream.

The three-step kit starts with the Arctic Berry Enzyme Exfoliant, which combines manual and enzymatic exfoliation to remove dead skin and boost luminosity. Next, the Arctic Berry Advanced Peel Activator MA20 refines and evens skin tone with further exfoliation. Finally, the Arctic Berry Peptide Radiance Cream contains plant-derived peptides (from hibiscus seeds), yellow plum extract and gardenia to help skin look fuller and more youthful. With those benefits in mind, here’s the facial protocol to keep clients’ skin bright and radiant.

Questions to Ask Clients Before Treatment
Before starting, confirm the client answers “No” to all of the following. If any answer is “Yes,” choose a different facial — we recommend the Yam & Pumpkin Enzyme Peel 5% instead.
– Are you currently using retinol?
– Have you had a chemical peel in the last two weeks?
– Have you shaved the treatment area in the last two hours?
– Are you under a dermatologist’s or plastic surgeon’s care and using any at-home “peeling” treatments?
– Do you have sunburn or windburn?
– Do you have a cold sore, or do you get cold sores?
– Do you have active acne?

If none of these apply, begin with the first essential step: cleansing.

A Step-by-Step Arctic Berry Peel & Peptide Facial Protocol

1. Cleanse
Cleanse with the Clear Skin Probiotic Cleanser to prepare the skin for the peel and improve product penetration. For a non-buffered peel, Stone Crop Gel Wash or Lemon Cleanser are also suitable.

2. Tone
Apply Mangosteen Revitalizing Mist or Lime Refresh Tonique and leave on.

3. Exfoliate
Perform a patch test before widespread use: cleanse behind the ear, apply the product for 1–3 minutes, then neutralize with Soothing Chamomile Tonique. If no adverse reaction occurs, proceed. Limit frequency and duration of product contact.

Pre-treat the skin with the appropriate VitaSkin™ Exfoliating Peel as a degreasing step. Apply in circular motions over the face and neck, avoiding the eye area. Use dampened cotton rounds to cover the eyes and apply a rich eye cream or moisturizer around sensitive areas to form a barrier. Keep eye wash available in case of accidental contact with the eyes. Do not rinse (no neutralization needed). If product gets in the eye, flush gently with water and consult a physician if irritation continues.

Exfoliating Steps for Normal Skin
Note: Do not use facial steam for normal skin.
– Step 1: Apply ½ tsp (3 ml) Arctic Berry Enzyme Exfoliant evenly to the face. For neck and décolleté, add another ½ tsp (3 ml). Avoid eyes and active acne. Inform the client they may feel a mild warming or tingling.
– Step 2: Immediately layer the Arctic Berry Pro Advanced Peel Activator MA20 over the Enzyme Exfoliant. Using gentle circular motions, apply to forehead, cheeks, jaw and upper lip. Use about one full dropper so light foaming occurs when the products mix. Gently scrub for 1–3 minutes. Leave the mixture on for up to 7 minutes.
– Step 3: Add another layer of the Arctic Berry Pro Advanced Peel Activator MA20 and gently scrub for up to 1 minute.

Exfoliating Steps for Sensitive Skin
For sensitive skin, omit Step 3 (the second activator layer). Follow the other steps as above and leave the mixture on for up to 7 minutes. Do not use facial steam.

Exfoliating Steps for Very Advanced & Non-Sensitive Skin
Note: Steam is optional for these clients.
– Step 1: You may apply up to three layers of the Arctic Berry Pro Advanced Peel Activator MA20. Gently scrub for up to 1 minute after the second and third layers.
– Step 2: Leave the mixture on for up to 7 minutes.
– Step 3: Remove with a warm, wet towel.
– Step 4: Neutralize with Soothing Chamomile Tonique by spraying into your palms and massaging into the skin until absorbed, or by saturating cotton rounds and lightly compressing them to the skin. Continue until tingling subsides. Rest the skin for 1 minute.

4. Mask
After the peel, apply Calm Skin Arnica Masque or Yellow Sweet Clover Anti-Redness Masque.

5. Targeted Treatment: Serum, Concentrate or Oil
For all skin types, use Marine Flower Peptide Concentrate for a plumper look. You can also use Strawberry Rhubarb Hyaluronic Serum for deep hydration, or Firm Skin Acai Booster-Serum for firmer, lifted-looking skin.

6. Moisturize
Apply a thin layer of Arctic Berry Peptide Radiance Cream to the face, neck and décolleté. Gently massage until absorbed.

7. Finishing Eye Care
Apply a thin layer of Neroli Age Corrective Eye Serum with light blending motions until absorbed. For extra hydration, layer Marine Flower Peptide Eye Cream on top.

8. Sun Defense
Finish with Sun Defense Minerals SPF 30 for all skin types. After a peel, skin is more sun-sensitive, so sunscreen is mandatory. Advise clients to use sunscreen daily, wear protective clothing and avoid sun exposure for at least a week after treatment.

9. After Care
Tell clients that best results come from a series of professional treatments (1–2 times per month) supported by home care using the Arctic Berry Peel & Peptide Illuminating System retail kit. Remind them the full retail kit is available to maintain radiant skin between visits. The retail kit contains a self-neutralizing multi-acid 10% Advanced Peel Activator that is safe for client use at home.
