Read on for simple, practical tips to help you live a healthier, more balanced life.

What Is Global Wellness Day?
Global Wellness Day, held Saturday, June 9, is a nonprofit day that asks one simple question: “How can I live a healthier, better life?” Celebrating is easy. With a focus on health and organic living, Eminence Organics’ Vancouver office will mark the day with fresh organic produce and fruit-infused water stations for staff. To help kick-start your own wellness journey, our experts share their top advice.

How do you define wellness?
To me, wellness is a whole-life approach that makes you feel good. It’s how you care for your body and mind—what you put on and in your body, how you move, how you recover from stress, and how you think about and treat yourself.
What’s your top tip for bringing wellness into workouts?
Celebrate the small wins. Big goals are great, but recognizing little victories keeps you motivated and positive.
How will you celebrate Global Wellness Day?
I’ll start with a workout, refuel with healthy food, then spend the day outdoors with my partner and pup to reset from the busy week.

How do you define wellness?
Wellness can get lost in life’s rush. I think we can all find it if we pause to breathe and decide what matters. For me, wellness is balance—and it’s personal. I check in every day: Did I eat real food? Did I move? Did I feel good about my work? Did I laugh or make someone smile? Life feels lighter when we make wellness part of it.
What’s your best tip for a skin care routine?
Make self-care a habit. I stick to a morning and night routine: cleanser, toner, serum, eye cream and moisturizer. Then one to three times a week I add a mask or exfoliation. A clean face is the best way to start and end the day.
How will you celebrate Global Wellness Day?
Living in Vancouver feels like wellness every day, but I’ll likely walk or run the seawall, visit local events, and enjoy an organic dinner with friends on Granville Island.

Mikaela Reuben is a culinary nutritionist and health consultant who has worked with clients like Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson and Woody Harrelson. She brings a food-focused perspective to wellness.
How do you define wellness?
Wellness is about balance. It means thinking about health in most moments, but also forgiving yourself when the healthy choice isn’t possible. Life should be enjoyed—stress undermines health—so wellness is a balanced way of living.
What’s your top nutrition tip for supporting skin and overall wellness?
Fill most of your plate with vegetables and leafy greens. They provide nutrients and fiber, help you feel full, support digestion and assist the body’s natural detox processes. Eating a variety of vegetables gives your body what it needs to function well.
How will you celebrate Global Wellness Day?
I’ll be on Maui—one of my favorite places. I plan to swim in the ocean, visit farmers markets, run a sandy hill near a natural rock pool, and cook fresh food with friends. I can’t wait.
